Pilot Walk Leader
Ian is a Glasgow-based photographer with a particular interest in the city as it actually is: its streets, people, architecture, industrial remains and the odd details that are easy to walk past. See more of ians work @ https://justian.narian.org.uk He has been taking photographs for many years, working mainly with Pentax cameras and favouring a straightforward, observational approach over heavily staged images. As a Glasgow walk leader, Ian’s aim is not to teach people the “correct” way to take photographs, but to help them slow down, look more closely and find their own pictures. Walks are relaxed and sociable, with plenty of room for different styles, experience levels and equipment, whether that means a dedicated camera or a phone. Expect conversation, exploration and a few places you might otherwise have passed without noticing.
Why I take pictures
I take pictures to share a way of seeing. Photography, for me, is about noticing what catches the light: a face, a building, a reflection, a patch of colour, or some small detail that suddenly makes an ordinary place interesting. I’m drawn to the things that make me stop and look
